White Sauce with Mushrooms

replacement for canned cream of mushroom soup

Ingredients

  • 1 c. mushrooms, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/2-2 c. milk
  • mushroom bouillon or broth (optional)

Directions

  1. Sauté 1 cup chopped mushrooms in 3tbs butter till soft. Add 3 tbs flour and cooking till bubbly. Add 1 1/2 – 2 cups milk and cook, stirring often, until the mixture is thick. If you have any mushroom bouillon or broth, add a little if you prefer more mushroom flavor. This tastes much better, and is better for you, than the stuff in the can.
