Fatt Kueh

Ingredients

  • 4 round small blocks of gula melaka
  • 250 ml water
  • Dissolve the gula melaka in the water and cool. Bottle for later use.
  • 250 ml of the above syrup
  • 50 ml coconut milk
  • 300 gm SR flour (flour must be sieved)
  • 1 egg - lightly beaten

Directions

  1. Mix a little syrup with the egg and flour till smooth.

  2. Alternately add flour and syrup and mix in one direction.

  3. Stand 1/2 hour.

  4. Boil 1/2 pot water till boiling.

  5. Fill paper cups the mixture to brim.

  6. Used a spatula (dipped in oil) to cut a cross from the top to the bottom of the cake batter after pouring the batter into muffin cups

  7. Steam in HIGH heat 20 mins.

  8. Water must remain boiling throughout.
