Vegetarian Chili

Ingredients

  • 15 1/2 oz can red kidney beans, drained
  • 15 oz can great northern beans, drained
  • 14 1/2 oz can tomatoes, cut up (I use petite diced)
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 TBSP chili powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced, or 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup of water

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan combine all of the above ingredients. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmered, covered, for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Top each serving with ½ cup hot cooked rice. (Minute Rice works fine!)
