Beef (or chicken) veggy and rice crockpot

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wild rice, rinsed and drained, uncooked
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 2 4 oz cans mushrooms, stems and pieces drained
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup silvered almonds
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 tsp seasoned salt
  • 2 lb bonelss round steak- cut in 1 inch cubes
  • 3 cups water

Directions

  1. Use 4-5 quart slow cooker

  2. Place ingredients in order listed in slow cooker

  3. cover and cook on low 6 – 8 hours

  4. Stir before serving

  5. VARIATIONS

  6. brown beef in old first for deeper flavor

  7. substitute chicken legs and thighs (no skin)
