Basil Pesto

Ingredients

  • 3 cups loosely packed fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup raw pine nuts
  • 2 or 3 whole garlic cloves, peeled
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste

Directions

  1. 1) Combine the basil, pine nuts, and garlic in a food processor, and blend until the ingredients begin forming a paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary.

  2. 2) Drizzle in a teaspoon or two of the oil, along with the salt, and process until smooth and creamy. Add more oil and salt as necessary.
