Yeast Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 cakes yeast
  • 1/2 cup water, warm
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsp shortening
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 7 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water

Directions

  1. Combine yeast in warm water with a small amount of sugar

  2. Combine sugar, salt, shortening and boiling water

  3. Add eggs and yeast

  4. Stir in flour; mix well

  5. Cover and let rise

  6. Punch down; let rise again

  7. Punch down

  8. Form

  9. Brush with butter and let rise again.

  10. Bake at 400° for 20 – 25 minutes.
