Peas Pulao

Cook time: 30 minutes
Serves 3 people

Ingredients

  • Rice
  • Peas
  • Salt
  • black pepper
  • Whole black cardamom
  • bay leaves
  • Jeera seeds
  • Ghee
  • Optional: Cashewnuts/raisins

Directions

  1. Cook rice

  2. Spread it in a wide bottom container to cool

  3. Put pan on the stove and then add ghee

  4. Once ghee has melted and is hot, add jeera seeds, cardamom and bay leaves

  5. Let this sizzle for 30 seconds

  6. Add peas

  7. Optional: add thin slivers of onion

  8. Stir to mix and cook until peas are soft

  9. Add black pepper

  10. Add cooked rice and salt

  11. Mix everything thoroughly

  12. Cook for a couple more minutes

  13. Turn off heat and let it stay covered for 5 minutes

  14. Optional: You can garnish with roasted cashewnuts/raisins
