Pickled Seckel Pears

Ingredients

  • 7 lb. Seckel pears
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. allspice
  • 1 Tbsp. cloves
  • 1 oz. ginger root
  • 1 pint vinegar
  • 3 1/2 lb. sugar

Directions

  1. Peel pears leaving stems on. Tie spices in a bag and add to vinegar water and sugar, and boil mixture 5 minutes. Add pears a few at a time and cook until tender and clear. Place pears in a jar, in syrup and seal.
