Scalloped potatoes

Serves 6 people

Ingredients
- 1/4 c chopped onion
- 1/4 c butter/mar
- 1/4 c flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 pepper
- 2 1/2 c milk
- 5 large potatoes, peeled, sliced thin
- Cheese potatoes:
- 3/4 c shredded American cheese
Directions

Sauce:

Cook onion in butter until tender (not brown)

Stir in flour, salt, pepper. Add milk.

Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.

Cook and stir 1-2 minutes more.

Remove from heat.

Place 1/2 of sliced potatoes in greased 2 qt. casserole.

Cover with 1/2 of sauce.

Repeat layers. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

Stir and cook 30 more minutes.

Cheese potatoes;
-
Reduce salt to 1 tsp.

Stir 3/4 c Amer. Cheese into sauce until melted.

Cook the rest as directed previously.
