Baked Lima Beans

Ingredients
- 2 cups lima beans
- cold water
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1/4 to 1/2 lb. ham trimmings
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can tomato soup
Directions

Wash and soak beans in cold water overnight (or 5 to 6 hours in warm water). Drain, cover with fresh water and cook slowly until fresh almost done.

Arrange sliced onion on bottom of baking dish. Pour hot beans on top.

Cut ham in 1/2 inch pieces and press into top of beans. Mix salt, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato soup and pour over beans. Add cooking water to cover beans.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 2 hours.

Variation: Canned tomato sauce may be used in place of the tomato soup and other seasonings.
