Chocolate Haystacks

Makes about 2 dozen.
Store in a box between layers of waxed paper.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • 2 1/2 cups cereal (corn flakes or puffed rice)
  • 1/2 cups chopped nuts (hazelnuts, peanuts, almonds, or walnuts)

Directions

  1. Melt chocolate in double boiler over simmering water.

  2. Add nuts and cereal and mix well.

  3. Remove from heat.

  4. Drop by tablespoonfulls onto waxed paper on a cookie sheet.

  5. Chill in refrigerator until haystacks harden.
