Ingredients
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 lb. ground sirloin
- 1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp. Montreal steak seasoning
- 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp. Dijon
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar
- 2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 packaged refrigerated piecrusts, room temp
- 1 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- Chopped fresh tomatoes with parsley, to serve
Directions
-
Preheat oven to 425.
-
In a medium saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add sirloin, onion, garlic, and steak seasoning; cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and crumbly, about 8 minutes. Add tomato sauce, ketchup and mustard, stirring until combined. Bring to a simmer; cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in cheese and parsley. Spoon mixture into a 9-inch pie plate.
-
On a lightly floured surface, unroll piecrust. Carefully place on filling. Fold edges under, and crimp as desired. Brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
-
Bake until crust is golden brown, 15-18 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Serve with tomatoes.
