Cherry Mash Candy

add red food coloring and extra cherry juice/may need more powered sugar

Ingredients
- 2 boxes Betty Crocker dry frosting mix (cherry if you can find it)
- 2 lbs powdered sugar
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1 can Eagle brand milk, sweetened condensed
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon butter-nut or just butter flavoring
- 1 jar Maraschino cherries, drained and chopped (reserve liquid)
- 2-12 ounces bags milk chocolate chips
- 2-12 ounce bags semi-sweet chocolate
- 2 tablespoons paraffin wax
- 1 pkg finely chopped peanuts, chopped
Directions

Mix all ingredients up to and including cherries.

Add a little cherry juice for color.

Pour mixture into a well greased 9 × 13 pan and freeze.

Melt chocolates in a double boiler.

Add peanuts.

Pour on top of frozen cherry mix.

Refreeze.

OPTION: mix dough, chill, make into balls, (like cherry mashes) then dip in chocolate. place on wax paper
