Ingredients
- 1 T. melted butter
- 1 T. salt
- 1 T. honey
- 2 2/3 c. lukewarm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 6 - 6 1/2 c. unbleached flour
Directions

Combine butter, salt, honey and lukewarm water

Sprinkle yeast over this mixture and add flour.

Mix thoroughly

Knead

Let rise till doubled in warm spot. (apx. 1 1/2 hrs.)

Punch down on floured surface.

Let rise again for about an hour, covered.

Butter cookie sheet and sprinkle cornmeal on it.

Roll out dough in a flat sheet about 30 × 15 and divide into thirds.

Roll each third into a narrow even loaf. Seal ends by pinching.

Place loaves on the cookie sheet and cover slight with a piece of plastic film. Let rise one hour.

Spray or brush the loaves with ice cold water and cut 3 or 4 diagonal slashes on the top wiht a knife.

Bake at 400 degrees for 55 minutes.
