Whole Wheat Hot Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 C. wheat flour (may use part of white flour)
  • 1 level t. baking powder
  • 2 T. oil
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1 scant C. milk
  • 1 large egg beaten lightly

Directions

  1. Sift dry ingredients. Combine milk and oil and add to dry ingredients. Then stir until moist but not too much. A cast iron skillet at medium heat is ideal. Use what you have.

  2. Syrup: 1 c water. 1 c sugar, heat ti boiling and add some maple flavoring, about 2 t. approx.
