Hawaiian Coleslaw

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh, shredded green cabbage
  • 1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg (freshly grated if possible)
  • 1 Tbsp. orange juice
  • 1/4 tsp. white pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayo or miracle whip

Directions

  1. Shred cabbage into a large bowl. Drain orange sections; reserve juice. Drain & measure pineapple. Add salt & spices to cabbage.

  2. Add orange juice & pepper; toss lightly. Add drained fruit, tossing it all. Mix reserved orange juice into mayo until it is a desired

  3. consistency. (Usually abt a Tbsp). Stir in mayo. Chill well before serving.
