Hamburger Corn pone pie

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 tablespoon shortening
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup canned tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup onion diced
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 package corn bread mix, prepared

Directions

  1. Brown meat and chopped onion in shortening.

  2. Add seasonings and tomatoes.

  3. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.

  4. Then add 1 cup drained kidney beans. Pour mixture into greased casserole.

  5. Top with corn bread batter, spreading carefully with knife.

  6. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes.
