Everyday Health Bread

The addition of 2 Tbs sunflower seeds makes this bread especially good

Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cups water*
  • 1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1-1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 cup whole grains*
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 1-1/2 Tbs butter
  • 3 Tbs sugar
  • 1-1/2 Tbs nonfat dry milk
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast*

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in bread pan, select Light Crust setting, and press Start.

  2. After the baking cycle ends, remove bread from pan, place on cake rack, and allow to cool 1 hour before slicing.

  3. *For Welbilt/Dak machines add 2 Tbs more water

  4. *The whole grains could be: 1/2 cup oats; 1/4 cup oats & 1/4 cup miller’s bran; 2 Tbs each miller’s bran, oats, cracked wheat, & oat bran; or any amount of various grains to equal 1/2 cup.

  5. *If using quick-rising yeast, reduce amount to 1-1/2 tsp.
