Vanilla sauce

Great on French Toast or Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tbl cornstarch
  • 1 c. water
  • 2-3 tbl butter
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1-2 tsp vanilla or the seeds scraped from a 2" length of vanilla bean

Directions

  1. Combine sugar, cornstarch and water in double boiler over boiling water till thickened. Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.
