Ingredients

• 4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 teaspoons salt
• 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1/4 teaspoon allspice
• 2 cups raisins
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup shortening
• 2 cups sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

1. Sift together first seven ingredients.

2. Cream shortening, sugar, and eggs.

3. Add vanilla.

4. Boil raisins for 5 minutes or until water has decreased to 1/2 cup.

5. Mix together with other ingredients.

6. Bake.
