Old-fashioned Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) blue bonnet margarine, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 1/3 cup unsifted flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

In a large bowl, cream together softened margarine and 1 cup sugar.

Mix in egg, almond extract, and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl blend together flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda.

Stir into margarine mixture.

Blend well.

Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate 2 hours.

On a lightly floured board, roll cookie dough out to 1/8 inch thickness.

Using a 2 inch cookie cutter, cut out cookies and place on greased baking sheets.

Reroll trimming and cut.

Bake at 350 degrees about 5 minutes.

Remove from baking sheets and cool on wire racks.

Sprinkle with sugar while still hot.
