Perfect Everytime Meatloaf

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1-lb. ground beef, a mix of ground beef, veal, and pork (often called "meatloaf mix" at the grocery store), or ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 C. seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 C. spaghetti sauce, your favorite brand
  • Optional:
  • (Add one or more of the following if you have time)
  • 1/4 C. finely chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients well but do not over-mix, as this causes the meat to become tough.

  2. Place in a loaf pan or a small casserole pan. Meatloaf can be made in any shape; it can even be made in muffin tins for some variety! Pack firmly.

  3. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 45 min – 1 hr. Carefully remove from pan and place on on plate, away from the grease (which will reabsorb into the meat if you allow the meat to sit in it.)
