Merry Berry Cheese Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsifted flour
  • 1 1/2 cups oats
  • 3/4 cup and 1 tablespoon firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14 ounce) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (Not evaporated milk)
  • 1/4 cup ReaLemon Lemon Juice from Concentrate
  • 1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. With mixer, beat flour, oats, 3/4 cup sugar, and butter until crumbly.

  3. Set aside 1 1/2 cups mixture; press remaining mixture on bottom of greased 13 by 9 inch baking pan.

  4. Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

  5. With mixer, beat cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in Eagle Brand until smooth, stir in ReaLemon.

  6. Spread over baked crust.

  7. Combine cranberry sauce, corn starch, and remaining 1 tablespoon sugar.

  8. Spoon over cheese layer.

  9. Top with reserved crumb mixture.

  10. Bake 45 minutes or until golden. Cool and cut into bars.

  11. Refrigerate leftovers.

  12. Tip: Cut into large squares. Serve warm, top with ice cream.
