Ingredients
- 1/2 C vegetable shortening
- 3/4 C peanut butter
- 1 1/4 C light brown sugar, packed
- 3 T milk
- 1 T vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 3/4 C flour
- 3/4 t salt
- 3/4 t baking soda
Directions

Combine shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well blended; add egg. Combine flour, salt, and soda. Add to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix just until blended. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet. Flatten slightly in crisscross pattern with a fork. Bake at 375 degrees; do not overbake! Cool 2 minutes on the cookie sheet before removing to a wire rack.
