Polenta

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Corn meal
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups water
  • salt
  • butter (optional)
  • cheese (optional)

Directions

  1. Boil water & salt

  2. Remove pan from heat, and slowly stir in corn meal with a whisk, until it’s all combined.

  3. Return to heat, set heat to low, and continue to stir 1x/minute or so until polenta is cooked.

  4. Butter, cheese, other flavorings can be added at this point.

  5. Cooking time is about 10-15 minutes total.

  6. For firmer polenata, allow it to cool for a bit before serving (can also be fried/grilled/broiled after cooling for a nice crisp crust)
