Grandma’s Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 370g butter
  • 370g Caster sugar
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa
  • 370g plain flour
  • 3tsp baking powder
  • Butter cream:
  • 90g butter
  • 185g icing sugar
  • 1tsp cocoa mixed with 2 tsp warm water

Directions

  1. Preheat oven 180c

  2. Beat sugar and butter together

  3. Add eggs – little at a time

  4. Mix cocoa with 4tbsp of warm water and add to mixture

  5. Gently stir in flour

  6. Pour into two sandwhich tins

  7. Bake for 20 mins

  8. Butter cream middle:

  9. Beat butter, icing sugar and cocoa together until smooth.

  10. Spread onto one cake layer when cool and place other on top.
