Gila’s Challah recipe (large scale)

Ingredients

  • 3 cup water
  • 2-3 TBS of sugar
  • 3 packages of yeast or 3/4 of a yeast cake or 2TBS and 1tsp of Yeast
  • 9 eggs
  • 1.5 cup oil
  • 1.5- 2.25 cup sugar
  • 1(1/2) TBS salt
  • 15 cups whole wheat flour--"ljus & milt" ( 1 1.5-kg bag + 5 cups)

Directions

  1. t rise, braid, rise again and bake for 1/2 hour at 350.

  2. The longer you let it rise the lighter it is. At least an hour.
