Macaroni and Cheese—Easy

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces macaroni (2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese (3 cups medium & 1 cup sharp)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. Heat over to 350 F.

  2. Cook pasta until al dente.

  3. Melt butter, add garlic, blend in flour, salt, cayenne, and pepper, gradually stir in milk.

  4. Cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens and mixture begins to boil.

  5. Add cheese, stir until cheese is melted.

  6. In 3 quart casserole, stir together pasta and cheese sauce.

  7. Sprinkle with more grated cheese and parmesan.

  8. Bake 30 minutes or until bubbly.
