Baked Apple Friiters

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg active dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 6 oz milk, scalded
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 1/4 c/ flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 lg egg
  • 2 c. peeled and chopped apples
  • Confectioner's sugar Glaze
  • 1 c confectioners sugar
  • 2 tbsp hot water

Directions

  1. grease baking sheet

  2. in a cup combine the yeast and warm water, stirring to dissolve

  3. let stand about 5 min.

  4. in a lg bowl stir together, hot milk, butter, sugar and salt, until butter melts

  5. mix on low, add 1 cup of flour, beating till combined

  6. increase speed to med. and beat for 3 min

  7. beat in yeast mix, cinnamon and egg till well blended

  8. attatch dough hook and mix on low, adding remainder flour

  9. kneed for 5 min.

  10. mix in apples

  11. place dough in lg bowl with cooking spray

  12. cover and let rise for about 1 1/2 hr

  13. punch dough down and let rest 10 min

  14. drop 1/4 cupfuls on baking sheet to make 16 fritters

  15. let rise 1 hr

  16. bake for 10 min at 350

  17. in sm bowl mix water and confectioners sugar until smooth

  18. brush over warm fritters
