Braised Short Ribs

Ingredients

  • 3-4 Lbs. Lean Beef Short Ribs
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 clove garlic (optional)
  • 1 c. beef broth
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 3 Tbsp. water

Directions

  1. Slice onions and separate into rings

  2. Place short ribs on broiler rack or in skillet and brown to remove fat

  3. Drain well

  4. Combine 2 c. flour with the papricka, salt and dryh mustard

  5. toss with short ribs

  6. Place remaining ingredients except 2 Tbsp. floujr and the water in Crock-Pot

  7. Stir to mix beef ribs with onion rings (be sure onions are under beef ribs – not on top).

  8. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 – 12 hours

  9. If gravy is desired, make a smooth paste of flour and water.

  10. Turn Crock-Pot to High setting and stir in paste.

  11. Cover an d cook until gravy is thickened.
