Quick Tomato Sauce

Goes great with meatballs!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra-virgin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon basil, fresh minced
  • Table salt
  • ground black pepper
  • grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Add olive oil along with garlic; sauté, scraping up any browned bits, just until garlic is golden, about 30 seconds.

  2. Add tomatoes, bring to boil, and simmer gently until sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.

  3. Stir in basil; add salt and pepper to taste.
