Herbed Meat Loaf with Mushroom Sauce

Cook time: 60 minutes
Serves 6 people
Ingredients
- 600 g ground beef
- 1 cup soft wholemeal bread crumbs
- 1 green pepper, finely chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp mustard
- salt
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp marjoram
- 1 tsp sage, dried
- 2 eggs
- 3 Tbsp oil
- Mushroom sauce:
- 8 oz sliced mushrooms
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 8 oz beef stock
- S&P
- Pinch nutmeg
Directions

Mash together all ingredients except egg and oil.

Bind with eggs.

Refridgerate for at least 1 hour in a loaf tin moistened with oil.

Turn loaf into a baking dish and pour 3 Tbsp oil over it.

Bake 350 F for 1 hour.

Mushroom sauce:

Fry mushrooms lightly in butter.

Add stock and spices.

Thicken with corn starch and milk.

Pour over meat loaf.
