Meatballs with Pepper Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped sweet red pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the first three ingredients.

  2. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well.

  3. Shape into 1 inch balls.

  4. Place on a greased broiler pan.

  5. Broil 4 to 6 inches from the heat for 5 to 8 minutes or until browned.

  6. In a Dutch oven combine the sauce ingredients.

  7. Bring to a boil.

  8. Reduce heat; add meatballs.

  9. Simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour or until the meat is no longer pink.

  10. Serve over rice or noodles.
