Turkey and Black Bean Chili with Crackers

Ingredients
- * 8 ounces turkey breast, ground
- * 2 teaspoon olive oil, extra virgin
- * 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- * 2 teaspoon garlic, chopped
- * 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- * 1/2 cup bell pepper, green, chopped
- * 4 teaspoon jalapeno peppers, diced, canned
- * 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- * 1/2 teaspoon cumin, ground
- * 1/4 cup beef broth, low sodium
- * 1/4 cup tomato sauce, no added salt
- * 1 cup tomato, chopped
- * 1 cup black beans
- * 4 teaspoon cilantro, fresh
- * 4 tablespoon onion, green, chopped
- * 16 crackers, whole wheat

- In a deep skillet or stew pot, brown ground turkey in oil over high heat. Add black pepper.

- Reduce to medium heat when meat is browned and crumbled. Drain off grease.

- Return meat to stove-top. Add garlic, onion, green peppers and jalapenos to meat. Add chili powder and cumin; mix thoroughly. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp.

- Stir in broth, tomato sauce, tomatoes and black beans. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat. Simmer for 20 minutes.

- Remove chili from heat and stir in cilantro and green onions.

- Serve with crackers on the side.
