Macaroni à la viande (meat macaroni)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried macaroni pasta (wheat, rice, corn or quinoa pasta)
  • oil
  • 1 onion
  • mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 lb ground beef, turkey, bison or pork
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 15oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 or 2 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • shredded cheese (optional)

Directions

  1. Cook pasta. While pasta is cooking, in a frying pan, cook onions and garlic in oil until tender. Add ground beef. Cook and drain. Use salt and pepper to taste. Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Mix pasta with beef-tomato mixture. Put in a deep dish. Sprinkle cheese on top and cook for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve with a green salad and garlic bread.
