Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- Granulated Sugar

Mix thoroughly butter, confectioners’ sugar, egg, vanilla and almond extract. Blend in flour, soda, and cram of tartar. Cover; chill 2 to 3 hours.

at oven to 375. Divide dough in half. Roll each half 1/4" (or more) thick on lightly floured board (can use confectioners’ sugar to keep dough from getting tough.) Cut into desired shapes; sprinkle with granulated sugar. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until light brown on edge (watch carefully, goes from light brown to dark brown FAST!! I take them out a little under done, they continue to bake a little on the sheet while I am getting them off.)

About 5 doz (less if you make them thicker) 2 – 2 1/2 inch cookies. I let the cookie cutters guide me on thickness. You will figure it out as you go along.
