Hearty Cheese Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons minced fresh oregano or 3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Tortilla chips or vegetables to dip

Directions

  1. In a skillet, cook beef, onions, green pepper, and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.

  2. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, sugar, oregano, and pepper.

  3. Bring to a boil.

  4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Stir in cheeses.

  6. Cook and stir until cheese is melted.

  7. Serve hot with chips.
