Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 c. water
  • 3/4 c. powdered milk
  • 2 eggs, well-beaten
  • 1-1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tb. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. raisins
  • 1/4 c. margarine, melted
  • 1 loaf day-old bread, torn into pieces

Directions

  1. Blend water and powdered milk, then add the eggs. Stir in the sugar, vanilla, salt, raisins, and margarine. Pour over bread pieces, stirring just until moistened. Place in a well-greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake 30 minutes at 350°. Drizzle with cold whipping cream or sauce below. (see other recipe for sauce)
