Snow-Topped Mint Bars

Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour, divided
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup crushed peppermint candy or candy canes
- Confectioners’ sugar
Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease and flour a 9- by 13-inch baking pan.

Cream butter and sugar until light colored and fluffy.

Beat in egg and vanilla.

Add 1 cup flour, mix well, then add milk. Incorporate remaining cup of flour.

Beat well for 2 to 3 minutes.

Stir in crushed peppermint and pour into prepared pan.

Bake in center of oven 20 to 25 minutes.

Cool completely, then sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar.

Cut into bars.
