Ingredients
- 1 recipe Pastry for Single-Crust Pie
- 3 eggs lightly beaten
- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 3/4 cup light-colored corn syrup
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 Tbs bourbon- Old Grandad
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1/4 tsp salt
Directions

In a medium bowl, combine eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, bourbon (if you like) and vanilla.

Stir in chocolate pieces, nuts and salt until well combined.

Pour into pastry-lined pie plate.

To prevent over browning, cover edge of pie with foil.

Bake in a 375 degree F oven for 20 minutes.

Remove foil.

Bake for 20-30 minutes more or until the crust is golden and a knife inserted near the center of the filling comes out clean.

Let cool for at least 2 hours before cutting.
