Sambar Pudi/powder

Remember, the poppy seeds may make you sleepy, so use sparingly.
Typically, one cup of sambar requires 1 TBSP of this sambar pudi/powder.

Ingredients
- 2 TBSP Channa Dhal (Kadle Bele)
- 2 TBSP Urad Dhal (Udhin Bele)
- 2 TBSP Coriander seeds
- 1 TBSP Cumin seeds
- 2 TBSP dried red chillies
- 6 stalks caripatha leaves (carbensapu)
- 1 TBSP hurigadale (pre-fried dhal)
- 1 pinch fenugreek seeds (Mehthi)
- +/- black peppercorn (adds spicy taste)
- 1 tsp poppy seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric
Directions

Dry roast in a large pan all of the above ingredients. Do not use any oil.

Grind the mixture to a fine powder.

Store in a cool dry place.
