Basic Tomato and Cheese Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 recipe Basic Pizza Dough
  • 1 recipe Easy Pizza Sauce
  • 12 oz grated Mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 500 degrees, with a 16-inch pizza stone on lowest shelf position, for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Place one round of dough on a lightly floured surface, keeping the other covered with a kitchen towel. Roll dough into a 14-inch round. Transfer to a piece of parchment paper and gently roll again if needed.

  3. Spread 3/4 cup of sauce over dough, leaving a 1/2- inch border around the edge. Sprinkle half of the Mozzarella (and other toppings, if desired) over the top. Slide the parchment paper and the pizza onto the stone. Bake until golden and cheese is bubbly, about 10 minutes. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Remove pizza from the oven; sprinkle with Parmesan. Cool 5 minutes before slicing.
