Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 3 tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups basmati rice
- 1/4 tsp saffron threads, crumbled
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup peas
Directions

Over medium heat, cook onion and garlic in hot oil until translucent. Add broth, tomatoes, cinnamon, saffron and rice. Heat to boiling and then cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Add shrimp and peas and cook for another 5 minutes. Good served with crustybread.
