Bratwurst with Sour Cream Sauce (Bratwurst mit Saurer Sahnensosse)

Ingredients

  • 8 bratwurst sausages, separated
  • 2 tbsp. Butter
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 1 tbsp. Flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sour cream

Directions

  1. Drop bratwurst into boiling water and remove from heat. Soak for 5 minutes. Drain.

  2. Melt butter in skillet on medium heat. Add bratwurst and cook until brown. Add ΒΌ c. water to skillet reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Add water if water boils away. When done, remove bratwurst from skillet and set aside. Keep liquid in skillet.

  3. Beat flour and salt into sour cream. Stir sour cream mixture into liquid remaining in skillet. Cook over low heat for 5-8 minutes until thickened. Do no let boil. Slice up bratwurst into pieces and drop into skillet. Heat through.
