Meatloaf (Falsche Hase)

Cook time: 60 minutes
Serves 6 people
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 lbs. ground beef
- 2 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. onions, chopped
- 1 white bread, torn into 1/2 in. chunks
- 1/6 c. milk
- 1 bacon, uncooked, cut crosswise into strips
- 1 Tbsp. breadcrumbs
- 1 Tbsp. ketchup

Preheat oven to 400 F

Soak white bread in enough milk to make a mush. Set aside

Mix together beef, eggs, onion, salt and pepper. Blend well.

Add break/milk mixture to meat mixture.

Pat meat into loaf shape and place on baking sheet with a lip to catch drippings

Press bacon slivers gently into top of loat with a pointed tip of a knife.

Spoon ketchup generously into top of meatloaf, then sprinkle with breadcrumbs

Bake for 50-60 minutes
