Ingredients
- 1 head red cabbage, medium
- 1 onion, medium
- 2 apples, large cooking
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 whole allspice
- 6 peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 2 tablespoons water
Directions

Cut cabbages into quarters and slice. Slice onion, pare apples & cut into sixths.

ss cabbage, onion and apple together in dutch oven. Add water, cider, salt & spices. Simmer uncovered 1-1.5 hours, depending on how crispy you want it.

Mix cornstarch and water, add to cabbage. Stir until thick.
