Ingredients
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 cup of flour
- 1/4 tsp German baking powder (if you close the package well it stays fresh at least a year, sometimes Meijers caries it too)
- 2/3 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 3 eggs
Directions

Melt the butter

Put flour and baking powder in a bowl and mix

Add milk and mix

Add sugar, salt and the egg yolks (reserve the egg whites in a different bowl)

Mix well

Whip egg whites until they start to form soft peaks and set aside

Add butter to the batter and mix

Add the beat egg whites and mix them into the batter gently

Let the batter rest at room temperature for 20 minutes

Heat waffle iron

Bake about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of batter in your waffle maker

Let cool on a rack

Sprinkle with powdered sugar

Serve with whipped cream and fresh fruit of the season or canned fruit
