Cheddar Herb Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 c (very) cold butter, cut into 1/2' pieces
  • 1 c grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 3/4 c buttermilk

Directions

  1. eat oven to 425.

  2. In the bowl of a food processor, pulse together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar. Add butter and cheese and pulse until it forms small pea-sized pieces. Add thyme and buttermilk and pulse until batter is just combined and forms a sticky ball.

  3. Drop a quarter cup of dough (per biscuit) onto greased baking sheet leaving about 1 1/2-inches between each biscuit.

  4. Bake 18-20 minutes or until biscuits are golden and an inserted skewer comes out with only a few clinging crumbs attached.
