Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 c butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 1/2 c icing sugar
  • 2 1/2 c flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add egg and extracts. Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.

  2. Chill for at least one hour.

  3. On a surface lightly sprinkled with icing sugar, roll out the dough to 1/8" thickness.

  4. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheets.

  5. Bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes
