Ingredients
- 1 c rolled oats
- 2 c water, boiling
- 1 T dry yeast
- 1 T sugar
- 1/2 c warm water
- 1/2 c molasses
- 1 1/2 t salt
- 1 T melted shortening (oil)
- 4 1/2 c flour (use 1 c whole wheat)
Directions

Combine oats and boiling water; cover and let stand 30 minutes.

Soften yeast in warm, sugared water; add to cooled oats with molasses, salt and shortening.

Add flour gradually; knead and let rise.

Make into two loaves. put into two greased loaf pans. Let rise 1 hour.

Bake at 375 for 45 minutes.
